新庄まつり
山車（やたい）を町衆が作り、囃子を近隣の在郷衆(ざいごしゅう。農部の住民)が行い、それぞれのグループを「若連」「囃子若連」と称する。山車は、歌舞伎や御伽話を再現したものであり、囃子は、基本的に「寄せ笛」「宿渡り(すくわたり)」と「羯鼓(かっこ)」「二上がり」の4曲。一般的に演奏されるのは「宿渡り(すくわたり)」と「羯鼓(かっこ)」である。
進行方向左側が豪華絢爛に飾り付けられる。唯一、本来なら同時には咲かない桜と牡丹を同時に飾り付けると言うルール以外は、自由に飾り付けしても良く、若連によって、ハリボテ、ねぶたを思わせる巨大灯篭、フラッシュ光、ドライアイスを使った煙、中に人が入って傘回しならぬ蓋回し(分福茶釜)をするなど、さまざまな趣向を見せる。進行方向の右側は、左側の見栄えを良くするために山のハリボテが配される場合が多く、多くの場合滝の絵があり、その両岸に桜や牡丹の花や水しぶきを表すグラスファイバーが配されている。
